McFarland Lutheran Church is hosting its fifth annual Walk 4 Water Fundraiser to support the drilling of safe water boreholes for the village of Petta Central North in Uganda. Walk 4 Water McFarland will start at 10 a.m. at McDaniel Park on Saturday, September 23.
Walk 4 Water McFarland participants will traverse a two and a half mile walking trail along the shore of Lake Waubea (4806 McDaniel Lane McFarland, WI), symbolizing the average distance Ugandan women and children travel to retrieve water, largely from unprotected sources including open ponds, livestock water points, and polluted ditches.
Walk 4 Water is the signature fundraiser of Water 4 Kids International, a division of Hope 4 Kids International, a non-profit working to provide clean water to children and families who are suffering through extreme poverty and disease. Walk 4 Water fundraising supports the non-profit’s international efforts to provide clean drinking water and deliver long-term solutions.
